This is a family-run enterprise, kind on nature, and the environment. We believe in sustainable farming and in reducing carbon emissions by producing food for our local community.
Home Grown
We are farming at over 200m altitude in all elements. We have 10 acres of woodlands, arable and mountainside land which we engage in low-intensity cultivation of vegetables, plants and flowers.
Good Earth Stewardship
We are learning as we go, but believe passionately that good soil stewardship and hard graft will be the key to delivering top class vegetables and beautiful flowers to our customers. We hope you will join us on this journey.
We endeavour to grow a full range of seasonal vegetables on the land, from potatoes to chickpeas. Our most bountiful seasons are July-September but strive to offer year round, steady supply of fresh, high-quality vegetables to our local customers.
Growing on the upland slopes and in the forest offers different micro-environments and allows us to be creative with our plantings.
We will soon be offering tours of the sites for those interested in finding out more about upland argiculture.
Enjoying Seasonality
Flowers
Each season we have lovely flowers on the farm. We sell these fresh at our Cefn Du honesty stall and these can be ordered in for any occasion. Keep the air miles low and bring local nature into your home.
Enjoying Seasonality
Celebrating Welsh Fruit
We pick and preserve out own fruit. Our intention is to plant a heritage fruit orchard for this and future generations to enjoy.
Soil enhancers
Feathers and fur
We have lots of wildlife on our smallholding and rely on our sheep and Carneddu ponies to help keep the field margins in check with low-density grazing, ensuring lots of space and time for nature to thrive. We cut our fields for hay late in the season to ensure other wildlife get the greatest benefits from summer habitat. For fertilizer we rely on our chicken’s, ponies and sheep manure with special herbal tonics made from plants grown on our land.
